Paula Gilland is a former nurse who took an opportunity to run a small business in her 50s. In 2017, Paula and her son started The Purple Bowl, a food service business that specializes in acai bowls. It's now a community space for many students and locals to come and speak to Paula. Recently, The Purple Bowl has had to move to a new location, and Paula has taken on the challenge of moving the Purple Bowl community while trying to establish a new work/life balance.
